Overview
Courses in DIKSHA are created by a mentor and can be viewed by both anonymous users and signed in users. An anonymous user can only open and view the structure of the course on DIKSHA portal while a signed-in user can also enrol in a course. Guidelines for taking a course vary from course to course and are upto the discretion of the course creator.

Anonymous User
An anonymous user can perform multiple actions on the portal such as:
- Selecting a language for the portal
- Searching and exploring the courses
- Viewing course structure on DIKSHA
Selecting Language

1. Click Select Language drop-down icon to change the language. The portal is available in three languages:
- English - Hindi - Marathi - Tamil - Telugu - Kannada - Bengali - Urdu | ![]() |
Searching and Exploring Courses
On DIKSHA you can search for courses using:

Using Course Name
1. Enter a course name in the search bar 2. Press Enter or click the Search icon to search for the course The specified course is displayed as a search result | ![]() |
Using QR Codes
1. Click the Enter QR Code button. The Explore Content on DIKSHA window is displayed 2. Enter the QR code of the course which you would like to search for 3. Click Submit The specified course is displayed as a search result | ![]() |
Using Filter Options
You can refine your search using different filters to get more accurate results 1. Click Topics. For details, refer Selecting Topics 2. Select Purpose 3. Select Medium 4. Select Class 5. Select Subject 6. Select Organization 7. Click Submit. The search results are displayed 8. Click Reset to reset the filters, if required | ![]() |
Viewing Course Details
After you search for the course, click on course card to open the course.

Course Specific Details
The following details about the course are displayed on the centre pane: 1. Name of the course 2. A rating assigned to this course 3. Description of the course 4. Course ToC 5. Click (+) icon to expand the folder and view the content of the course 6. Click (-) icon to collapse the expanded folder Note: Anonymous users can only view the table of contents of the course, they have to sign in to enrol in a course. A pop-up window is displayed with a message "Sign in to enrol in this course" | ![]() |
Sharing, Copying, and Resuming a course
1. Click Share icon to share the course. A pop-up screen with the course link is displayed. You can paste this link on any medium such as email, communication channels etc. to share the course link 2. Click Copy to copy the course contents. The course details are copied to the course editor. You can edit the course details or the course content details and send it for review 3. Click Resume Course to resume taking the course from where you have stopped the previous time you have viewed/taken the course | ![]() |
Course Batch and Licence Details
1. The ongoing batches for the course are displayed here 2. Click Enrol to register for the course. For details, refer Enrolling in a Course 3. The list of content types in the course is displayed here, for example, pdf, video 4. The list of Creators, Contributors, and Creation Date of the course is displayed here 5. Click Course Credits to view all attribution details | ![]() |
Signed in user
A signed in user can perform more activities than an anonymous user. Any registered user can enrol in a course which is open for enrolment in the course for which they are invited.
